Start the spring with a Finale! Irving Berlin and Cole Porter where two of Broadway's giants, immortal composer lyricists who wrote some of the greatest American songs music lovers have ever heard. By 1950, their careers were starting to wind down but they were definitely not over! Join us as we pay homage to the last show and songs of these two geniuses.
Irving Berlin's Call Me Madam boasts You're Just in Love, Hostess with the Mostess, and It's a Lovely Day Today as standouts in its score, and songs Berlin wrote for White Christmas include The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing.
Cole Porter wowed Broadway with Can Can and Silk Stockings, two musicals set in his favorite city, Paris. Thrill to I Love Paris, C'est Magnifique, It's Alright With Me, All of You, and Stereophonic Sound. His movie songs from this time included True Love from High Society and Ca Cest Lamour from the delicious Les Girls.
Our cast is made up of your favorite PHC singers - Tamara Siler, Whitney Zangarine, Richard Paul Fink, Brad Goertz, Pantelis Karastamatis, Laura Kaldis, and returning after a long absence, Brian Chambers! We know you'll love this feast of wonderful songs from these fathers of the American musical Gee whiz, c'est si bon!
